As I said in my earlier suggestion about an AI bounty hunter (and no KOS in towns), what about that you could bribe the bounty hunter to not kill you?:D

Also, I think that your wanted level should be removed after you die. (it wont transfer to your clone)... so if you want it removed, just die ;)

How about they can only get a clean slate if they go to jail. If they go to jail, they lose all their items anyways. If they die, they lose their and money that's on them, but they don't lose their murderer status.

Seriously, that sounds retarded. Since when was imprisonment considered harder than capital punishment?

Because in this future, you can easily be revived by reconstructed clones. Jail is worse because you actually have to live through it, while capital punishment is at most a minimal pain and then a revive...

Well, I get the whole thing about the death not being permanent becoming an issue, but what if you submitted your clone data before you comitted the crime? Then the one who comitted the crime would be dead and you would simply have a bad rep for being known to have PK tendencies.... or something.

Well if a true clone is an exact reconstruction of the person, then under the same circumstances the person would have done it again! I think jail time is more suitable for crimes because reviving a person is pretty much the same as letting him walk...

I just had a hiarious idea!
What if the government, knowing that the clone would do the same under those circumstances, instead of putting the clone which had yet to do anything in prison, had the cloning facility input anti-murderous commands into your subconscious. That way you will not be able to target other players for a while.
