Hi guys, I just came across an interesting discussion about the current limitations of the bank system:
http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/gala ... cs-167005/

What it comes down to is this: Assuming an 8 player map, we can only store 95 characters, with 91 possibilities for each character. That's still a lot of data we can sync, but it means that we have to compress everything as tight as we can get them.

Just wondering, if bank files are saved on the player side, isn't that a potential opening for exploits/cheats?

Yes, we'd have to encrypt the data, as well as obfuscate the saving system. Even then, someone can just copy all of the code into their own map and save whatever character they want. Luckily, to do that, they'd at least need to know how to use the editor, unless they decide to publish the map, in which case we're screwed.

Or just lock any publicly released maps. So nobody can load it up.

At the moment though, you can't open locked maps to the public.
